「アフリカの草原」にいる自分を想像し、今までの作品では見られなかったアプローチまで駆使し、自身の魂に直接問いかけながら制作された本作はジューク/フット・ワークが主体でありながらもよりブラック・ミュージックやシカゴ・ハウスの影響が色濃く反映され、ジューク/フット・ワークの世界から飛び出し、ネクスト・ステージへと進みだした1枚に!

RP Boos fourth album for Planet Mu looks back to the foundation of Chicagos juke and footwork scene. While his releases throughout the 2010s took footwork to its outer limits, with confounding sample twists and frenetic triple-time beats, some of the tracks on Established! are slower, more spaced out, and closer to the genres house roots. All My Life builds up from a simple kick drum and piano notes, with Boo continually remarking All my life I love to dance. How 2 Get It Done! sticks gliding 4/4 beats under expertly diced Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg samples, increasing the pressure by focusing on extended repetitions of key moments. Several tracks continue with footworks tradition of battle tracks. Boo taunts his detractors during Haters Increase the Heat!, feeding off their negative energy and making his own music more pumped up. Later tracks such as Just Like That! and Now U Know! are much more confrontational, with rapid bursts of expletive-heavy samples firing over throbbing beats and smoother samples that only make things more tense. All Over is essentially nothing more than a footwork edit of Phil Collins I Dont Care Anymore, but its one of the albums most defiant songs. Other tracks are similar in composition yet more celebratory. Finally Here excitedly welcomes you into the dance with boisterous cheers, piled-on samples, and acid synth lines. Like many other RP Boo tracks, it samples Class Actions post-disco staple Weekend, which is given a more thorough spin-cycle during Another Night to Party, easily the most purely gleeful cut on the album. The biggest change of pace on the record is Beauty Speak of Sounds, a slower, more introspective track filled with crickets and hand drums, in which Boo envisions himself dancing on the grasslands of Africa. The most diverse RP Boo release to date, Established! finds the innovative producer stepping back and observing the big picture, and reflecting on his place in the lineage of dance music. ~ Paul Simpson

ジューク/フットワークのオリジネイターによる3年ぶり4作目のテーマは〈アフリカの草原〉。自身の中に宿るルーツと対話を続けながら既存のスタイルにとらわれることなく、先行カット"All My Life"をはじめ、広くブラック・ミュージックやシカゴ・ハウスの影響が色濃い音楽性へとアプローチしている。堂々たる風格すら感じさせる佇まいに、シカゴ発の新興ジャンルもその地位を確立したと言っていいでしょう。
