笑っちゃいけないけど、「日本組曲」はナクソスの日本人作曲家撰に入っていても不思議ではない珍曲で楽しめます。「惑星」は、前任者ヒコックスのファンタジー路線よりも、ハンドリーの爆演路線に近く、思わず低音のレベルを下げたほどのパワフルなサウンドは、手持ちのSACD盤の中でも最高と言えます。
