ヘンデルの英語の頌歌『アレクサンダーの饗宴』

ヘンデル『アレクサンダーの饗宴』の久々の新録音です。『アレクサンダーの饗宴』は1736年に初演された英語の頌歌(オード)。英雄アレクサンダー大王を軸にして、音楽の守護聖人、聖セシリアを讃えるという内容。人気の高い作品ですが、最近は録音がなく、これが1990年以来の新録音です。
ボッシュは、モダン楽器のオーケストラから自然な美しさを引き出し、清潔で心地よい音楽を作り上げています。ソプラノのミールズ、テノールのアグニューなど,歌手も魅力SACDハイブリッドで、音の良さも特筆。なお、初演の幕間に演奏された合奏協奏曲は収録されていません。
