第44回グラミー賞ノミネート発表

2002年1月4日、ビバリーヒルズで第44回グラミー賞のノミネートが発表された。今回のノミネーションをリ・するのは、昨年アルバム『アコースティック・ソウル』でデビューしたインディア・アリーとベテランのU2だ。

アルバム・オブ・ザ・イヤーはインディア・アリー、ボブ・ディラン、アウトキャスト、U2。ソング・オブ・ザ・イヤーはトレイン、アリシア・キーズ、ネリー・ファータド、U2、インディア・アリーがノミネートしている。中でもインディア・アリーは、アルバム・オブ・ザ・イヤー、ソング・オブ・ザ・イヤー、レコード・オブ・ザ・イヤー、最優秀新人、といった“ビッグ4”と呼ばれる4部門を含む7部門にノミネートされ、ノミネーション・セレモニーで最も注目を浴びることとなった。また、U2はインディアよりも1つ多い8部門にノミネートされており、ビッグ4では新人部門以外の3部門で彼女と競うことになる。
