バルトーク、コダーイに学んだハンガリーの作曲家ヴェレシュ。ブリテンの『シンフォニア・ダ・レクイエム』で有名な「皇紀2600年奉祝音楽」として交響曲を書いた作曲家、と言えば分かる人は分かるでしょう。弟子にはリゲティもいます。バルトークの弟子ということもありハンガリー民謡にも強い興味と拘りを持つヴェレシュの音楽の核となる書法が味わえる弦楽四重奏と三重奏を高音質録音でお楽しみいただけます。CD2及びCD3にはヴェレシュ本人の肉声や、息子クラウディオ・ヴェレシュとキュベレ・レコーズ創始者の1人で女優でもあるミリャム・ヴィーズマンの会話を収録しています。
