ベーシスト Paul Jackson（ポール・ジャクソン）が逝去。享年73歳。THE HEADHUNTERSのメンバーとして活躍

THE HEADHUNTERSでの活躍でも知られるベーシストのPaul Jacksonが、3月18日に日本の自宅にて亡くなったことが、彼の公式サイトで発表された。享年73歳。死因は明らかにされていない。

Paul Jacksonはカリフォルニア州オークランド生まれ。1973年発表のHerbie Hancockのアルバム『Head Hunters』に参加し、後に他のメンバーとともにTHE HEADHUNTERSを結成。「ミュージシャンズ・ミュージシャン」としてリスペクトを集め、多彩な活動を展開した。その後ソロ名義での『Black Octopus』をリリースし、1985年より日本に移住。Charや山下勉など、日本のアーティストとも活動を共にした。また、1998年にはTHE HEADHUNTERSをリユニオンしていた。

SNSではHerbie Hancockをはじめ、多くの追悼メッセージが寄せられている。
