The Ivory Coast's Monique Seka had a big hit with the title track of this album. She had already begun to employ Manu Lima on keyboards and for the orchestration. He reappears on her 1995 release, Okaman, an album that was a huge success in Africa and the French Antilles. After the sales of Okaman this album was reissued in 1996. The style tends toward Antillean zouk beton, which is the harder-edged zouk versus the lighter zouk. The sound quality is good, although the levels are under-recorded. The synthesizers sound a little dated and don't achieve the clarity of her later albums. Short at 36 minutes, the title cut alone is memorable and foreshadows the brilliance of her later work. ~ Mark Romano
