For their major-label debut, West Coast rockers Vendetta Red have crafted an energetic and emotive album. The band deals in melodic hardcore along the lines of Sunny Day Real Estate--in fact, the vocal style of Red's Zach Davidson even bears a similarity to Sunny Day's Jeremy Enigk. However, as these 12 songs reveal, Vendetta Red has its own distinct sound that leans towards guitar-layered anthems. The lead single, "Shatterday," bursts into full-on, power-chord glory complete with a group sing-along, while "Accidental Sex," features a blazing guitar solo.
