Hawkwind has always been a band that puts forth an incredible live concert experience. Few videos (if any) have really captured the wonderment that is a live Hawkwind experience. This one does not really measure up to that sensation, but it does present a very good attempt. The music here is strong and varied, and the performances are inspired. The stage show is quite dramatic. In fact, the encore, in a virtual nod to Kiss' Gene Simmons, includes real fire-eaters sharing the stage with the band. If you have never been able to see Hawkwind live, this video will not simulate the experience, but it will certainly provide a great appetizer to make you want to see them more than you did before. ~ Gary Hill|
