This project may cause pregnancy!," it better contain some serious lovemaking grooves. THINGS THAT LOVERS DO luckily lives up to its claims, delivering an old-school-inspired slice of sweet slow-jam music that sounds like it could inspire more action than Barry White's waterbed. Over liquid throbbing bass and minimal instrumentation, producers L.A. Reid and Michael Mauldin wisely allow Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore's exquisite vocals to do most of the work. The singers expertly wrap their voices around monumental hits by Lionel Richie, Billy Preston & Syreeta Wright, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, and others. Obviously, tackling songs on the level of "You're All I Need To Get By," requires some serious talent, but Lattimore and Moore are up to the challenge, subtly imbuing the chestnuts with a modern feel but never over-singing. A modern R&B classic in the making, THINGS THAT LOVERS DO combines the best of old and new R&B to create what may very well be the ultimate make-out album.
