Featuring the great jazz entertainer Louis Armstrong as well as his contemporary and fellow New Orleans trumpeter Henry "Red" Allen, these recordings, part of a series made to entertain the armed services in World War Two, are a loose and enjoyable demonstration of the jazzman's art. They also include performances from the comedian Jack Benny and his sidekick Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, and humorous monologues from Nick "Nicodemus" Stewart, who was a featured comedian with both Armstrong and Duke Ellington.
