Spinning their radio show for listeners all over the globe, Sway & King Tech's album is a direct reflection for the duo's love of hip-hop. THIS OR THAT features such old-school artists as Kool G Rap and KRS-One alongside newer talent like Eminem, Xzibit, and Canibus. In a mix-tape format, Sway and Tech dish out phat jams plus new contributions from Guru ("NY Nigus") and Bobby Digital ("Belly Of The Beast"). In addition, there are countless freestyles from such artists as Redman, Canibus, and Sonja Blade.
THIS OR THAT flows well, mixing in full tracks with pieces and selections of other cuts. A late-'90s jam like "Above The Clouds," featuring Inspectah Deck and Gang Starr, might be followed by a classic like Eric B. & Rakim's "I Know You Got Soul." THIS OR THAT is one of the first major mix albums from California, but the record has a universal feel, appealing to a worldwide hip-hop audience.
