With talent like that in your corner, it's hard to go wrong, but the former Chevron Young clearly has the talent to back it up. Hailing from the streets of Philadelphia, PA, Jade follows in the footsteps of her homegirl Eve, but she's got a sound all her own. Unlike many of her female hip-hop contemporaries she doesn't rely on cheap sexual appeal to make her point, instead trading in hard-hitting rhymes full of visceral energy that speak much louder than any bared navel or exposed cleavage. And with the cutting-edge production of Timbaland framing those rhymes, GIRL INTERRUPTED hits the ears from a whole different direction than what most hip-hop fans are probably used to.
