I WORSHIP includes a bonus DVD disc. It should be understood by those who are unfamiliar with the style that worship music is quite distinct from more mainstream Christian pop and rock. Its spiritual message is more clearly presented, and is clearly the focus of the songs. That said, there's certainly no shortage of pop-rock flavor on this two-disc collection of worship music by some of the most highly esteemed artists in the field. Sure, many of the songs fall somewhere between gentle folkie ministrations and adult-contemporary pop sounds, but some bear an uptempo modern folk-rock sound that's not too far from the likes of Counting Crows or perhaps Toad the Wet Sprocket. And were it not for the choral vocals, Reuben Morgan's "My Redeemer Lives" could easily be on a Melissa Etheridge album, with its frenetic acoustic-rock feel. The most important thing, though, is that over the course of 33 songs, I WORSHIP gets its message of faith across. The canny production values help to insure that many will be listening.
