This disc travels the world seeking music that will convey that most primal of emotions: passion. Some of the various sounds the CD-compilers came up with are Portuguese fado, Gregorian chant, Indian ghazals, Sufi chanting, and soukous. Some of the more well-known artists here are the Klezmatics (who play klezmer) and !Cubanismo! (who play up-tempo Cuban music). At over 60 minutes long, Passion works very well as a sampler of various styles of world music and could be a very nice first purchase for someone looking to do some exploring. ~ Tim Sendra
