Easily one of the more unforgettable frontmen to emerge from the '80s glam metal scene was Twisted Sister's Dee Snider. Snider has seen many ups and downs during his career, but has managed to pen some of heavy metal's most beloved anthems, which are all on display on Deevision. Originally released as a home video in 1997, the nearly two-hour-long program was reissued on DVD five years later and includes a blistering solo show recorded on Snider's home turf of Long Island, NY (as well as interviews with some of his metal peers and the singer himself). Highlights include high-energy versions of such Twisted Sister classics as "The Kids Are Back," "Stay Hungry," "I Am (I'm Me)," "Under the Blade," "You Can't Stop Rock N' Roll," and of course, the two tracks that launched Snider/Twisted Sister's career back in 1984, "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock." Snider covers quite a few topics during the interview segments (his battle against the PMRC, Twisted Sister's rise and fall, his post-Twisted Sister career, his movie Strangeland, etc.), while such guests as Ronnie James Dio, Sebastian Bach, Lemmy, and former bandmates offer tales of their experiences with this larger-than-life rocker. ~ Greg Prato
