A freewheeling blend of jazz, rock, folk, and funk influences, ANGELS COME ON TIME features plenty of fluid instrumental improvisation, but where many of the Slip's peers are short on compositional know-how, this album features a set of finely crafted compositions dripping with both lyrical and harmonic sophistication.
