II - 1990 A NEW DECADE, and her absence illuminates just what her vocal talents lent to that earlier record. This sophomore effort is not without its strengths, however, as the always competent Jazzie B. takes a rap on the sublime opener, "Get a Life," which also features a charming children's chorus. What follows is an exciting, house-inspired R&B melange that isn't afraid to let the music do the talking, evidenced most clearly on the acid-jazz instrumental, "Courtney Blows," featuring saxophonist Courtney Pine.
