Rufus Thomas would storm the soul charts in 1970, scoring three hits, two of them in the Top 10. The title track and his number one smash "(Do The) Push and Pull" were identical -- dance-based novelty tunes featuring Thomas' manic instructions and bluesy shouts backed by surging, horn-based soul and funk from the Stax band. メンフィスの名物ファンキー親父、ルーファス・トーマス。名門STAXに残した動物ダンス物（犬、ペンギン、鳥まで）を得意とした。53歳で発表した本作は、ニワトリの鳴きまねで始まるダンスナンバー“DO THE FUNKY CHICKEN”などご機嫌で陽気なファンキーナンバー満載。こんな楽しいアルバムそうそう無いですよ。
