For his second Warner Brothers album, this guitar-playing Angeleno leads the way through 10 songs of lightly nuanced jazz with just enough R&B overtones to qualify for Quiet Storm status. Working his way through mostly self-penned instrumentals, Brown offers crisp phrasing and warm-toned bounce, from the infectious, bossa-nova flavored "Dancing In The House" to the more subdued, but no less engaging one-two punch of "The Feeling I Get" and the title track. Aiding Brown in his escapades are vocalists Chante Moore (a sensual "Feeling The Way"), Michael McDonald (the soulful "I Still Believe"), Miki Howard (a simmering "Not Like You Do"), and newcomer Debbie Nova (the playful "Won't You Stay"). Equally impressive is Brown's subtle interpretation of Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile," with a treatment befitting the memory of Wes Montgomery.
