Cilla Black's 1965 and 1966 albums, Cilla and Cilla Sings a Rainbow, on a single CD, cleanly if unspectacularly remastered in a package that re-creates the original front and back cover designs of the LP. The material will be of interest to fans, as over half of these 25 songs are essentially new to CD. The music is mostly mid-'60s white British soul, in the vein of Dusty Springfield; Black's stiffness on some of the early sides makes them overall a less satisfying experience, but the last 13 songs show a high degree of inspiration, most of it realized. There's no annotation except what was on the original LP jackets. ~ Bruce Eder
