Havalina delivers infectious pop hooks on their Tooth & Nail debut, Space, Love and Bullfighting. Their Latin roots are prevalent throughout the record, but with a pop/rock twist. The shimmy and shake of "Losing You" and "Carlos" highlights Havalina's wide eye for feel-good music. "Rocket Ship" switches up for some kitschy, cool guitar riffs, giving geek rock a new look without any Weezer comparisons. "I Feel Nothing" is probably their closest effort to an indie tag. Matt Wignall's vocals are an uncanny match for Mudhoney's Mark Arm and Tom Petty, while the cheeky bebop of the song aims to be an album standout. Space, Love and Bullfighting is unpredictable and fun and Havalina has done a decent job of keeping things fresh. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
