この映画は凄い映画でしたね。何といってもクラリスとレクターのやり取りが素晴らしいです。レクターの卓越した能力、クラリスの正義感と野心。クラリスはレクターの能力を利用して連続殺人鬼であるバッファロービルを捕まえようとしますが、レクターはタダでは動かない。クラリスの底に潜む原体験を聞き出します。そしてレクターの脱走。その凄まじい脱走方法。その後クラリスと殺人鬼の対決。いや、思い返しても凄い映画だったなと思います。この映画以降、レクターのような天才サイコパスの悪役がどれほど出てきたか。でもレクターほど衝撃的な悪役は出ていないと個人的には強く思います。

小さい頃テレビで見た時は猟奇的な殺人鬼やレクター博士の話し方が怖くて最初から最後までちゃんと見ていなかったのですが、大きくなってから見ると画面から目が離せなくなるくらいストーリーに惹きこまれました。派手なシーンは無いが、ジワジワと恐怖がにじり寄ってくるような追い詰められていく感じが堪らないです。レクター博士役のアンソニー・ホプキンスの怪演は必見です。
