サイケ好きにはお馴染みボスタウン・サウンドの一派という認識も高いサイケデリック・パワートリオ、エデンズ・チルドレンの68年セカンド・アルバムが最新リマスター&ボーナス入りでリイシュー。ファズ・ギターをガツンと効かせた曲もあれど、このバンドの魅力はジャズ・フィーリングを含んだギター・プレイとどこか陰のある湿り気のあるサウンドです。歪んだアシッドロックとブルースが渦巻き、メンバーのジャズ志向がオリジナル楽曲の所々に現れたボスタウン・サウンドの中でも他のバンドを凌ぐ創造性が溢れたアルバムとなっています。もしこのバンドがサイケデリック時代を超える環境にあったなら、その後とんでもないものを作っていたのではないかと思わせる傑作です。

The second album from Eden's Children has the names of the bandmembers hidden in the liner notes. With photos by Bob Dylan photographer Elliot Landy, engineering by Brooks Arthur, co-production by Bob Thiele, who produced their first self-titled disc the year before, this trio had all the elements for success. But they were lumped into that dreadful MGM "Bosstown Sound" fiasco which affected Listening on Vanguard, Quill, Bagatelle, and so many groups from a fertile region which radio was not too kind to. ~ Joe Viglione
