美女のジャケットも麗しい、レイ・コニフ・シンガーズのオリジナル盤７０年作品と７１年作品のカップリング。レイ・コニフ・シンガーズ「愛のプレリュード」「ある愛の詩」。もちろん、名調子、さわやかな混声コーラスのハーモニーが心地良いサウンド。「クロース・トゥ・ユー」「レット・イット・ビー」「アイル・ビー・ゼア」、そしてカーペンタ－ズの「愛のプレリュード」（なかなかの鳥肌もののテイクです。これ）と明るさの中にせつなさ爆発のナンバー多く、そして後半は、ハイライトは「コンドルは飛んでいく」、ラストはこれまたせつないカーペンターズの「ふたりの誓い」、しかもコニフのトロンボーンが主役をとるアレンジでこれまた鳥肌。７０年代ならではのメランコリックさがいっぱいの一枚。ソフト・ロック系ファンもぜひ。 (C)馬場敏裕
