Capleton spent most of the '90s espousing his deep Rastafarian beliefs although he ended up clocking time on Def Jam working with rappers like Q-Tip and Method Man in courting a crossover audience. STILL BLAZIN' finds the raspy-voiced singer in the midst of playing to his core dancehall audience who've stayed with him even when he gave up singing sexually explicit material in favor of music of a more conscientious nature. Typical of his ever present piousness are songs like the soaring duet with fellow dancehall legend Luciano "Hail King Selassie," dub-basted Glen Washington team-up "Jah Is Gonna Work It Out," and vibrant "Behold," featuring family unit Morgan Heritage. STILL BLAZIN' finds Capleton still carrying the spark of inspired musical creativity tempered by steadfast beliefs.
