2025年3月に14年ぶりの来日公演を実現させ、ここ日本のファンを熱狂させたエレクトロ・ポップ界の女王、カイリー・ミノーグから聖夜に向けて届いた素敵なプレゼント。『KYLIE CHRISTMAS』の10周年を記念し、新曲3曲をフィーチャーしたスペシャル・ヴァージョンが到着!

2025年3月に14年ぶりの来日公演を実現させ、ここ日本のファンを熱狂させたエレクトロ・ポップ界の女王、カイリー・ミノーグ。その彼女からまたまた素敵なクリスマス・プレゼント『KYLIE CHRISTMAS (FULLY WRAPPED)』が届けられた。

『KYLIE CHRISTMAS (FULLY WRAPPED)』は、カイリーが2015年にリリースした『KYLIE CHRISTMAS』の発売10周年を記念したスペシャル・エディション。時代を超えて愛されてきた数々のクリスマス・スタンダードを時にはスローでセクシーに、また時には高揚感溢れるユーロ・ダンスっぽく、カイリーならではのポップでダンサブルな楽曲に仕上がっている。まさにこの季節ならではの暖かさや楽しさ、そして華やかさを、きらめきとときめきと共にエレクトロ・ポップ・サウンドに乱反射させた作品だと言えるだろう。またクリスマス・プレゼントを包むポップな包装紙のようなアートをバックに、大きなリボンで着飾ったカイリーをフィーチャーした、"プレゼント感"溢れるアートワークにも注目!

ANGEL STUDIOとSARM MUSIC VILLAGEでレコーディングされ、長年カイリーと仕事をしているスティーヴ・アンダーソンがプロデュースを手掛けたオリジナル・アルバムに収録されていた「Santa Baby」や「It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year」などのお馴染みのクリスマス・ナンバーをカイリー流にアレンジした楽曲から、フランク・シナトラをフィーチャーしたヴァーチャル・コラボレーションの「Santa Claus Is Coming To Town(サンタが街にやってくる)」や、妹ダニーとのデュエット「100 Degrees」、そしてオリジナル・ナンバーとなる新曲となる「White December」と「Christmas Isn't Christmas 'Til You Get Here」ももちろん収録。さらに新たにレコーディングされた「Hot In December」、「This Time Of Year」、そして「Office Party」の3曲も追加されている。

The Kylie experience has become so all-encompassing it's hard to believe that 2015's Kylie Christmas is her first holiday album. She and her team do it right, providing a varied and diverse selection of tracks and moods. Of course, there are plenty of holiday favorites, and old chestnuts like "Winter Wonderland" and "Let It Snow!" are done up Vegas-style with horns, strings, and plenty of schmaltz. There are a couple of fun diversions, like her snappy cover of the fun Connie Francis song from the '50s, "I'm Gonna Be Warm This Winter," or a sentimental cover of Yaz's "Only You," done as a duet with James Corden. The cover of the Waitresses' "Christmas Wrapping" adds a little punch to the proceedings, her version of the Pretenders' "2000 Miles" adds a few tears, and the originals she adds to the mix -- the modern pop ballad "Every Day's Like Christmas" and two girl group-inspired tunes ("White December," "Christmas Isn't Christmas Until You Get Here") -- all sound like winners. Throughout the album, Kylie sounds very game, merry even, and there's enough holiday spirit on offer to help even the grinchiest customer make it through the season with the bare minimum of humbug. ~ Tim Sendra

華ありまくりのクリスマス・アルバム。オーケストラをバックにフランク・シナトラと疑似デュエットした〈サンタが街にやってくる〉、モンローになりきってセクシーに歌う"Santa Baby"、それにキラキラ・ポップなイギー・ポップとの共演曲とか、モータウン調とか、妹ダニーが参加したダンス・ソウルとか、ヴァラエティーに富んでいてウキウキが止まりません。16曲中6曲がオリジナル・ソングっていうのも嬉しい!
