These are continuous in-the-mix CDs, compiled and mixed by The Dreem Teem's Mikee B, DJ Target Feat. Maxwell D, and Johnny J Of The X-Men. ^A nearly overwhelming three discs of British 2-step, Shake It Up! Garage Sessions includes separate discs mixed by Mikee B of the Dreem Teem, DJ Target, and Johnny J of the X-Men (not the turntablist crew). Devoted to the club night of the same name, Shake It Up! certainly isn't a crossover compilation -- unlike quite a few 2-step compilations, there isn't a hit in sight amidst the tough, tech basslines and constant ragga chatting. Mikee B's opening disc is the highlight, paced by great tracks from Platinum 45 ("Oi!"), Shut Up & Dance ("No Doubt"), Ramsey & Fen ("Favourite Part of Me"), Ed Case (a Zoom & DBX remix of "Something in Your Eyes"), and RIP ("Oh Baby"). On the second disc, DJ Target drops a few crossover hits from Wookie and So Solid Crew, while the third disc was mixed live by Johnny J at Shake It Up!'s home in Hammersmith. ~ John Bush
