This is dance music warped way out of control. Its creaky rhythms seem ready to collapse, spent and exhausted, as they descend into their own peculiar internal logic. Cristian Vogel's Mosquito label output reflects in the defiant grooves on ABSOLUTE TIME: minimal, taut basslines, synths that buffet the sonic mid-range with a hurricane force, and a gaggle of obscurantist noises that keep things just to the left of awry.

Vogel has chosen not to title the tracks herein--a smart move, as the sheer kinetic energy makes words virtually irrelevant. Many emotions are conjured here: the sense of hard-drive dread on track four, the excavated, dessicated beats and arching minimalism of track six, the aural percolations and chirping basses on track two. Few would argue that Vogel is one of the true originals in a very crowded field.
