A Classic Tale: Music for Our Children presents three of classical music's best-known and loved pieces for children, as performed by conductor James Levine and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. Celebrity narrators lend their voices to each of the pieces: Sharon Stone narrates Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf, Op. 67," Cher narrates Britten's "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra," and Samuel L. Jackson reads Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait." The album's sumptuous packaging includes the full text of each piece's narration, suggestions for enjoying each piece of music (moving interpretively to "Peter and the Wolf," for example), and a coloring page.
