Infinite was billed as the final Mobb Deep album. Released eight years after the death of Prodigy, it was assembled by surviving partner Havoc and the Alchemist, whose contributions to 1999s Murda Muzik began a lasting affiliation with the duo. Prodigy recorded enough unused vocals to make this viable -- hes on every track and even provides some of the hooks -- and the verses mesh with those of Havoc to an extent that the project doesnt sound like the result of surgical patchwork. (In fact, only a few components obviously date from later than 2017.) While Infinite doesnt eclipse any of Mobb Deeps classic recordings, its a treat for fans and does not dilute the legacy. ~ TiVo Staff
