Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes' debut album, 1976's I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME, remains one of their finest. After slugging it out on the New Jersey bar scene with their soulful blend of R&B and old time rock & roll, the Jukes appeared poised to follow another famous Jersey son, Bruce Springsteen, to the top of the charts with this outstanding debut. But fate proved otherwise.
Both the Asbury Jukes and Springsteen's E Street Band included several of the same members, and both E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt and the Boss himself lent a hand in the writing of some of the best songs on I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME. Standouts include the Van Zandt-penned title track, the Springsteen-written "Fever," and two tracks that feature celebrity guests--Lee Dorsey on "How Come You Treat Me So Bad," and Ronnie Spector on "You Mean So Much to Me."
録音 : ステレオ (Studio)
