Originally released as three separate albums FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN (1974), MILLION MILE REFLECTIONS (1979) and FULL MOON (1980). Personnel includes: Charlie Daniels (vocals, guitar, fiddle); Tom Crain (vocals, guitar); Taz DiGregorio (vocals, keyboards); Charlie Hayward (bass); Fred Edwards, James W. Marshall (drums, percussion). One of Sony Legacy's budget-priced series of box sets containing three classic albums by one artist, the Charlie Daniels Band box has the fiddler's three most popular albums, 1974's FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN, 1979's MILLION MILE REFLECTIONS and 1980's FULL MOON. The three albums are from two different stages of Daniels' career, with FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN having a harder-edged sound and more aggressive pose than the later records, as on "The South's Gonna Do it Again," and a blistering country-rock take on the bluegrass standard "Orange Blossom Special." MILLION MILE REFLECTIONS and FULL MOON are more genial, filled with sly humor and pop crossover hits like "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." This handy box is probably enough Charlie Daniels for all but the most devout fans.
