This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by DJ HH. Personnel: Hardy Heller (turntables). Liner Note Author: Hardy Heller. Arranger: BT . Germany keeps up their trance quota with an expository, competent mix by DJ HH (aka DJ Hardy Heller) that chews on more of the clickety-clack American techno bit than his own native, eclectic fruits of his peers. As a matter of fact, that's one of the only reasons to bother with this record. Heller's mixing does its job -- no clever reworking here -- but it's his choice of tracks that's of most concern. The machinations of Huntemann's very Yello-induced "Phreaks" or Angel's chilled Neil Young interpretation show a deeper, antiseptic side to the usual German trance output. It's as if Heller spent endless summers in Californian deserts instead of his European open air parties. Whatever the reason, Mix in Motion turns out to be a quiet introduction for a DJ seemingly, and refreshingly, out of his element. ~ Dean Carlson
