The Barracudas began recording in 1981. The London-based group performed music flavored more from the '60s than the '80s, many of their songs calling up memories of other surf rock and beach pop bands like the ever-popular Beach Boys. In the summer of 2001, Castle Records completed gathering up 43 tunes that the Barracudas had recorded during their couple of life spans, and placed the more than three-dozen songs all together into one terrific offering. This comprehensive double-disc anthology is a must have for any surf rock/psychedelic pop fan. Some of the standout tunes you'll find on these discs include "Summer Fun," "I Wish It Could Be 1965 Again," "Next Time Around," "Grammar of Misery," "I Want My Woody Back," and "Dealing With Today." ~ Charlotte Dillon|
