Anthology Collection8CDセットには、1990年代半ばにリリースされた3枚のAnthologyが、2025年にGiles Martinによってリマスターされ、さらに新しいコンピレーション・アルバム『Anthology4』が追加され、全191 曲を収録。
『Anthology4』には、スタジオでのアウトテイク、ライブパフォーマンス、放送音源、デモ音源など1958年から、2023 年にリリースされた最後のシングル「Now and Then」までを収録。
『Anthology4』は13の未発表トラックと、アルバム5作のスーパー・デラックス・バージョンから厳選された17曲を収録。
1963年から1969年までのアウトテイクに加え、Jeffrey Lynneによる「Free As A Bird」と「Real Love」の2025年新ミックスも収録。
さらに、これまでCDで発売されていなかった曲も収録。

The Beatles Anthology series has been a success. The first three volumes were a mix of live tracks, alternate versions of familiar songs -- sometimes stitched together from different takes -- and the occasional unreleased track. Not for fanatics who were looking for the rarest of the rare vault dwellers, instead the sets were a way for all sorts of fans -- from the devoted to the casual -- to look behind the scenes at some of the most popular music ever made, and to see the band for the hardworking craftsmen they were. This set gathers all four editions and features brand new remastering by Giles Martin. The added brightness and clarity given to the songs is a nice upgrade, so is the more compact packaging. Is that enough to justify a repurchase? Maybe. It will definitely appeal to Beatles fans who dont have the original versions and that seems like a very good reason for this set to exist. ~ Tim Sendra

追加されたAnthology4は、アルバムのスーパー・デラックスからの再収録が多くて残念でした。目新しいものは殆どありません。手を出さない方が無難でした。
この手の商品発売はいつまで続くのでしょうか…

30年前のアンソロジー初発時には、Free as a BirdとReal Loveの7インチシングルと4曲入りCD(シングル)がそれぞれアンソロジー1、2と同時発売されていました。そこには本編には入っていない「ボーナストラック」的な曲があって、まとめて再発する時にはそれらの曲も追加してくれればいいなと期待していました。しかし発表されたトラックリストを見ると、Free as a BirdのCD3曲目This Boy以外の5曲は選外に。中古盤で手には入るものの、まとめて聞ける絶好の機会を逃してしまい残念です。Anthology 4に入れるための時間的な余裕は十分あったのに、1曲だけの採用とは…。未練がましいですが曲目を記しておきます。当時のシングルを持っている人は大事にしましょう。
