Emo-pop lifers All Time Low deliver a big, effusively hooky pop/rock album with 2025s Everyones Talking!. Produced with longtime collaborator Dan Swank, the album is one the groups most balanced and mature, underscoring all of their passionate punk and emo roots with an assured pop craftsmanship that speaks to their long career. Its an affecting combination they pre-figured with 2024s The Forever Sessions, Vol. 1, reworking some of their biggest hits in recognition of their 20th anniversary. On Everyones Talking!, they build upon that heartfelt nostalgia with anthems that evoke their carefree youth, but strike the right tone for a rock group hitting their mid-thirties. Its a vibe they underscore from the start with "Cold Open," a solo acoustic guitar opener in which singer Alex Gaskarth frames the albums creation as "A few years of trauma and magic/Tied up with a string and a bow." Yet throughout the album theres a sense that the band is reflecting on their past and finding ways to move forward, better and with conviction. On "Oh No" Gaskarth sings, "But if Im not broken likе I used to be/Will you still find me interesting?" Its a reinvigorated punk-pop energy they return to throughout on cuts like "SUCKERPUNCH," "Butterflies," and the effusive "The Weather." That latter track, as with much of Everyones Talking!, feels like an ode to anyone keeping the romantic torch lit for someone who got away and a paean to second chances. ~ Matt Collar

デビュー以来、常にポップ・パンクのその先をめざしてきた4人組は、この10枚目のアルバムでも80sを思わせるビッグ・ロックおよびシンセ・サウンドに加え、ヒップホップのビートも取り入れている。そこにはメインストリームで戦ってきたバンドの矜持が感じられる。ロック・バラードの"Tread Water"でカントリー・シンガーのラストン・ケリーと繰り広げるデュエットが熱い。
