音楽への情熱と、自分たちのルーツを称えたいという思いで結ばれた二人の兄弟の絆による、ヴァイオリンとチェロを完璧なハーモニーで奏でる、類まれなデュオ!

ルカ & レオ・イスピルは、フランス出身の兄弟(ヴァイオリンのルカ・イスピルと、チェロのレオ・イスピル)によるデュオで、高度な演奏技術と豊かな音楽性で注目を集めており、ヨーロッパ各地の音楽祭やコンサートで活躍しています。
ルカ・イスピルは、フランスの若手ヴァイオリニストで、2024年のエリザベート王妃国際音楽コンクールに出場し、注目を集めました。彼は、バッハ、シューマン、エネスク、シマノフスキなどの作品を演奏し、その技術と表現力が高く評価されました。
レオ・イスピルは2002年生まれで、7歳からチェロを始めました。パリ国立高等音楽院(CNSMD)で学び、2023年からはベルギーのエリザベート王妃音楽財団でゲイリー・ホフマンの指導を受けています。彼は、フランス、トルコ、アメリカ、ウクライナ、ジョージアなどで演奏経験があり、数々の国際コンクールで受賞歴があります

The title Ispir in the graphics of this 2025 release, attaching to both the names of brothers Luka Ispir (violin) and Leo Ispir (cello), doesnt make clear whether the pair will continue as a duo, release albums independently, or (most probably) both. The repertory for a violin and cello duo is not large, but the pair have the striking coordination that sometimes occurs between siblings. They hit two of the established fixtures of the genre, the Sonata for violin and cello of Ravel, and the String Duo No. 1 in G major, K. 423, of Mozart. These are both splendid and somewhat underrated pieces, with Ravel coming as close as he ever did to Debussy and Mozart, introducing, as much as he did anywhere else, his contrapuntal late style. The performances by the Ispir brothers are lively and elegant, but the connecting tissue in the program is equally important and successful. The pair include a world premiere -- of Fazil Says Street of Memories -- where the two instruments seem to gradually split paths as the work proceeds. The arrangements of two of Bachs Two-Part Inventions are slightly chilling. There is a big finale, in the form of Johan Halvorsens Passacaglia (After Handels Suite in G major, HWV 432, and by the end of it, the listener is likely to feel that the brothers have reached far beyond the presumed borders of this seemingly slight chamber music genre.
