鍵盤奏者、指揮者のセバスティアン・ドセのもとに2008年にリヨンで創設されたアンサンブル・コレスポンダンス。17世紀のフランス宗教音楽を中心レパートリーとし、著名な作曲家の作品を再発見するなど、その精力的な演奏・録音活動で定評のあるアンサンブルとしてフランスの古楽界を牽引する存在となっております。古楽界を中心にひっぱりだこのリシャルドーと共に編んだ新しいアルバムは、シュッツ:十字架上のキリストの最後の7つの言葉 SWV478やディークマンの葬送音楽を収録したアルバム(HMM-902350,2020年録音)に続くものです。このシュッツの録音の後、ドセとリシャルドーは、こうした哀歌をまた録音しようと約束したそう。17世紀末、ハンザ同盟の賑やかな都市とバルト海の対岸にあるストックホルムの宮廷との架け橋となった北ドイツ出身の作曲家たちに、ドセらの探究の手は少しずつ伸びています。当時、スウェーデンは、自国の芸術を国際的に発信するよりも、むしろ南に目を向けていました。このアルバムでは、スウェーデン、ドイツ、イタリアの作曲家の作品を通して、メランコリーの無数の色合いへと私たちを導いてくれます。冬の空を優しく彩る霧のような北の太陽や、日没前の最後の虹色の輝き、あるいは無限に広がる色とりどりの北の光のように、私たちを引き上げ、高揚させてくれます。
HARMONIAMUNDI

The word "echoes" in the subtitle of this 2025 Harmonia Mundi release suggests the albums contents. It is not music by Swedish or other Scandinavian composers, and one is left wondering just how much of that existed during the Baroque era. Rather, it consists mostly of music from the court of Charles XI in Sweden, who, unlike Louis XIV in France, gathered an international group. The music is in Swedish, German, and Latin. Some of the composers, such as Franz Tunder and Bachs cousin once removed Johann Christoph Bach (J.S. called him "the profound composer"), came from northern Germany, but they were imported from as far abroad as Italy. All the music comes from a single manuscript collected at Charles court chapel, and there is one work, at the end, lamenting the kings death. Many listeners will want to hear the album solely for the lead vocalist, the haunting mezzo-soprano Lucile Richardot, who contributes to an elegant note along with Ensembles Correspondances leader Sebastien Dauce. The composers range from occasionally heard on compilations relating to J.S. Bachs predecessors (Tunder and Johann Christoph Bach) to all but unknown, even to serious Baroque fans. Despite its diverse sources and a few more dance-like interludes, there is a certain sober, Ingmar Bergman-esque quality that generally links the music together. This fits Richardots voice perfectly, and she and Dauce are an accomplished partnership by now. The sound from La Ferme de Villefavard de Limousin is not perfectly defined but may be representative of what Charles heard at his court chapels. An enjoyable hour and a quarter of quiet Baroque music. ~ James Manheim
