Some Days Im Good, Some Days Im Not, the second studio album by Philly rapper/vocalist/performer Fridayy, is another collection of anthemic songs that utilize the passion of R&B, the accessibility of pop, and the spirit Fridayy grew up with as a result of his background in a church family. The arrangements are lush, with hints of modernized dancehall in the beat of "Wait for Me," and lots of gospel-informed large-ensemble vocals on many tunes. Meek Mill stops by for a verse on "Proud of Me," one of the tracks where Fridayy raps in a melodic flow rather than singing, and other features include Wale on "Shotgun," Kehlani on "Saving My Love," and Llona on "Look to You," among others. Fridayy swings easily between multiple styles on Some Days, and the best of its tracks find the perfect balance of a few different approaches. "Baddest in the Room" employs a slick combination of R&B and trapped-out dancehall in its verses before leaping into a huge, sticky chorus. Some Days Im Good, Some Days Im Not debuted at number 51 its first week on the Billboard 200 chart. ~ TiVo Staff
