The highly regarded Japanese underground rock legends White Heaven disbanded mid-'90s, leaving behind quite a legacy in the psychedelic revival scene of Tokyo. Alongside Ghost and Fushitsusha, White Heaven were one of the standouts on the legendary Tokyo Flashback compilations, and their albums are released by the prominent independent label PSF in Japan, as well as having one fine LP on The Now Sound in the U.S.A. The groups vocalist Ishiahara You created this solo album following the demise of the band. One can expect an acoustic psychedelic album in the spirit of those produced by '60s West Coast rockers Dino Valente following his time in Quicksilver Messenger Service and Skip Spence going solo post-Moby Grape. In that, You Isiahara creates an album of long sprawling mantras and quirky soaring vocals that while it touch bases with the Japanese underground infatuation with American psychedelia of the '60s. It is mixed with more than a spike of Japanese artist Keiji Haino and Kan Mikami. ~ Martin Walters
