Holiday Seasoning collects a generous 16 family-friendly original comedy songs by Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, a dozen or so co-writers, and a parade of celebrity guests. Stylistically, it includes a few music satires (the Bob Dylan send-up "Thanksgiving Eve") and at least a couple more-straightforward, affectionate tunes (roller disco-inspired highlight "Holiday" with the Jonas Brothers) alongside a wide variety of comical songs. Included are previously released fan favorites like 2022s "Almost Too Early for Christmas" with Dolly Parton (another highlight) and 2023s rap-injected "Wrap Me Up" with Meghan Trainor, a song that went to number two on the Billboard Holiday Digital Songs Sales chart. The bulk of the set list will be new to fans, however, and while songs like "New Years Eve Polka (5-4-3-2-1)" with Weird Al Yankovic and the Roots wont exactly merge seamlessly into a Christmas party playlist, most of whats here doubles as headphone comedy and background holiday cheer. With additional guests including Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Megan Thee Stallion, and Will Ferrell, among others, Holiday Seasoning cracked the top half of the Billboard 200 upon its release the day after Halloween in 2024. ~ Marcy Donelson
