Rashomon was restored by the Academy Film Archive, the National Film Center of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and Kadokawa Pictures, Inc. Funding provided by Kadokawa Culture Promotion Foundation and The Film Foundation.

羅生門 デジタル完全版｜DVD
芥川龍之介『藪の中』に少し追記したものであり、羅生門で話をしているという点のみで小説『羅生門』は無関係。
わざわざ羅生門を絡めたのは人は醜いとの暗示か。
罪を犯しても(犯されて)自分の譲れないものは曲げずに話す当事者たちの心のどこにライトを当てるかで、この作品の印象は変わるだろう。
元が元なだけに文学映画で、映像だけに囚われると理解し難い作品。

この映画を映画と言わないで何をもって映画というのか。羅生門こそ観れば観るほど映画のおもしろさ、黒澤監督をはじめ、スタッフの凄さがよく分かる。
