フランク、グリーグ、ショール=プレトニョフ: ヴァイオリン・ソナタ集

完璧な技術と深い音楽性をもつヴァイオリニスト、ダニエル・ロザコヴィッチ
ワーナー移籍第1弾は、ミハイル・プレトニョフのピアノとによる深い解釈による濃厚かつ気高い演奏。

13歳の時にヴェルビエ音楽祭で初めてプレトニョフの演奏を聞き強い感銘を受けたというロザコヴィッチ。数年後に音楽祭のディレクター、マーティン・エングストロームの紹介でプロトニョフと会う機会を持ち、チャイコフスキーの三重奏曲を演奏。以降、世代を超えた友情を育んできたと言います。
このアルバムで2人は完全に息のあった演奏を披露。プログラムにはグリーグ、フランクのソナタに加え1970年ウクライナ生まれのアレクセイ・ショールのヴァイオリン協奏曲を基に、プレトニョフがヴァイオリン・ソナタにアレンジした作品がおかれており、異色の輝きを放ちます。数学者でもあるショールは作曲家としては遅咲きですが、これまでの作品は高く評価されており、世界的なアーティストたちが挙って演奏しています。作品には美しい旋律が満ち溢れるとともに、平和への祈りが込められており、ロザコヴィッチとプレトニョフは心を込めて演奏、音楽を生み出すことの喜びと希望を表現しています。アルバムはグリーグの「ソルヴェイグの歌」で幕を開け、続くフランクでは、プレトニョフが先導するゆったり目のテンポに乗ってロザコヴィッチが極上の美音と高い集中力に満ちた演奏を聴かせます。第2楽章の激しい音の応酬、瞑想的な第3楽章も聴きどころ。緊張感を和らげるかのようなショスタコーヴィチの「馬あぶ」をはさみ、前述のショーの美しくも儚いヴァイオリン・ソナタが続きます。
そして、最後のグリーグのソナタで2人は、作品に横溢するエネルギーと哀愁を存分に歌い上げ、ハーモニーに対する深い理解を示しています。

The main draw on this Warner Classics release, which hit classical best-seller charts in the late summer of 2024, is surely the presence of the violinist Daniel Lozakovich in his label debut. Warner Classics, with its emphasis on both musical and physical charisma, is the right place for this young player, and he delivers both. His Grieg "Solveigs Song" is gorgeous and is off to a roaring start, and consider his Violin Sonata in C minor, Op. 45, of Grieg, with its heroic introduction and its exciting, coda-heavy finale offering Lozakovich a big chance to step into the limelight, one that he largely takes. However, for chamber music lovers, there may be a different attraction here, namely the presence of Mikhail Pletnev in the somewhat unfamiliar role of accompanist. The 23-year-old Lozakovich and the 67-year-old Pletnev may seem an odd couple, but they work quite well together in forging an unusual relationship. Pletnev said that his great musical model was Rachmaninov, who, despite his reputation as the great virtuoso of the age, wrote a good deal of chamber music and vocal music in which he served as accompanist. Pletnev manages a modern counterpart here, offering a masterclass in how to invest the accompanimental parts with virtuoso energy without overwhelming the soloist. He is aided in this by the inclusion of the Violin Sonata in B minor he co-wrote with Alexey Shor, an excellent extension of Rachmaninovs style. This is chamber music as it ought to be, a collaboration between individual musical minds, and it bodes well for the career of the young Lozakovich. ~ James Manheim
