Hans-Joachim Roedelius is one of the true pioneers and innovators in experimental and electronic music. He has collaborated with Brian Eno and Dieter Moebius on several CDs, including discs as Cluster. He also has several solo CDs out, all of which are cutting-edge. Tace is certainly on the edge and "sehr interrasant" (the liner notes are in German). Roedelius uses some eclectic styles and techniques on this recording. He uses dissonance and experimental effects to great advantage. The atmospheres have ambient textures. There are very few overt rhythms, so the album borders on minimalism as well. However, the eclectic and enigmatic overtones set this much closer to avant-garde and experimental electronica. It is an excellent album and will appeal to fans of Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Robert Rich, and Jah Wobble. ~ Jim Brenholts
