Louisville, Kentucky band Knocked Loose continues upping the intensity of their relentless metalcore sound with their third album You Wont Go Before Youre Supposed To. The ten-song set is a non-stop whirlwind of chugging, downtuned riffs, urgently screamed vocals, and machine-gun drum performances pushed to the front of the mixes. Poppy cameos on the highlight "Suffocate," alternating between breathless yowls and eerie spoken parts. Knocked Loose is great at hardcore-bred blasts of intricately structured but precisely played songs, but they also bring in moments of nu-metal groove on tracks like the sinister "Blinding Faith."
