クリスティのパーセルが3枚組で復活します。

《ディドーとエネアス》は、1985年の録音。冒頭の序曲から、気品に満ちており、悲しみをたたえたとにかく美しい録音が際立っております。ドミニク・ヴィスの雰囲気たっぷりの魔法使い、カントール(ドミニク・ヴィスと共にアンサンブル・クレマン・ジャヌカンで演奏してもいた)の若々しいエネアス、そしてロランスがなんともやわらかに歌うディドー、すべての歌がクリスティのマジックともいえる指揮によってこれ以上なく豊かに響きます。

《妖精の女王》は、シェイクスピアの真夏の夜の夢に基づいた物語。印象的な愛の場面や超自然的現象の場面、音楽の機智に満ちた傑作です。才気迸る闊達な音楽を、クリスティが、めくるめく鮮やかなコントラストと機智で描きだします。1989年7月のエクス=アン=プロヴァンス音楽祭で大反響を呼んだ上演を、公演直後に録音したもので、コンサートマスターは寺神戸亮、通奏低音(チェンバロ、オルガン)にはクリストフ・ルセも参加しているというのもあらためて注目。歌唱陣も、ピオーをはじめ、錚々たる顔ぶれです。
