モーツァルト・ストーリーズ (フルート・ソナタ集)

モーツァルトのヴァイオリン・ソナタをフルートで伝える、
パユの繊細かつ豊麗な音色による作品の魅力に迫る演奏。

「私が音楽家になったのはモーツァルトのおかげです」と、モーツァルトと同じ1月27日生まれのフルート奏者エマニュエル・パユは言います。パユが初めてモーツァルトの音楽に魅了されたのは、わずか5歳のときでした。
モーツァルトのフルート独奏のための作品は、初期に作曲したソナタ、2つのフルート協奏曲、フルートとハープのための協奏曲、フルート四重奏曲、などそれほど多くはありません。モーツァルトの作品に思い入れのあるパユにとってその音楽を奏でるために、数多く作曲されたヴァイオリン・ソナタから、最もフルートにあった作品を選曲し、原調で、できるだけ書かれた楽譜のまま演奏されています。
すでにこのアルバムは「絶妙に形作られたサウンドの驚くべき配列、見事なブレス・コントロール、完璧なアーティキュレーション、そして何より一貫して雄弁なフレージング」と、海外評論紙で高い評価を得ており、エマニュエル・パユの豊麗でまろやかなフルートと、ル・サージュの明確かつ繊細なピアノが、モーツァルト音楽の魅力を余すところなく伝えています。

Is Emmanuel Pahud the next Jean-Pierre Rampal? It is possible, for Mozart was always one of Rampals specialties, and Pahuds graceful style may remind one of that master. Pahud has released several albums devoted to French music of the 18th century, and in a way, this is one more; the "flute sonatas" listed in this program are Mozart sonatas for violin and piano, repurposed for the flute, and both Mozarts existing flute music and some of his violin pieces date from around the time of Mozarts sojourn in Paris. The modern violin sonata was in its infancy at this point, and Mozarts violin parts, although graceful and consistently inventive, emerge only rarely as fully independent of the keyboard line. Pahud knows just how much emphasis to put on them, and in balancing the two instruments, he and pianist collaborator Eric Le Sage are on solid ground. Thus, there is no feeling here that anything has been transcribed, and Pahuds remarkable way with Mozart is allowed to bloom in full. Like the music of Mozart itself, Pahuds performances here will appeal equally to the connoisseurs and the amateurs. 既に30年前からベルリン・フィルの首席フルート奏者を務め、ソリストとしても世界中で活躍を見せるパユ。これまでアンサンブルも含めワーナーに多くの録音を行ってきており、フルートの枠だけに捕らわれない、楽器の発展性に大きく寄与するアルバムを発表してきたことは承知の通り。そのパユが幼少から魅了され続けているモーツァルト作品に新たな新風を吹き込んだのが当アルバム。モーツァルトのフルート作品は多くないことから今回取り組んだのはヴァイオリン・ソナタで、フルートに最も合った作品を選択し、しかも原調で演奏しているのは驚き。今回も完璧な演奏であり、楽器の可能性の広さに感嘆した。
