This LP differs from most of the other 11 in this series of late-1937 Benny Goodman broadcasts in that it is split between two different sessions. The November 6 performance boasts the BG Quartet's "Vieni, Vieni" and the full band's "Life Goes to a Party" while the December 22 aircheck is highlighted by "If Dreams Come True" and "Avalon." Gene Krupa's uninhibited drumming on many of these performances really drove the band (even if he could drive Goodman crazy. ~ Scott Yanow|
