Transistor may be a little less slickly produced than the work of TNT's original incarnation, but their sound hasn't really changed much -- it's still catchy pop-metal with slight prog-rock inclinations and a higher level of musical chops than most similar bands. A few tracks seem to strive for anthemic qualities without quite making it there, but overall, the record will satisfy the group's longtime fans. ~ Steve Huey
